The Instructions of King Amenemhat

A New Kingdom scribe's copy of the Middle Kingdom text "The Instructions of King Amenemhat". 
Initially scholars believed that Amenemhat had survived the assassination attempt. 
Today it is accepted that the king died and so cannot have written about his experience. 
The account of his death conveys the king's bitterness, and his shock at being attacked in the place where he should have been most secure.
